Having neutral bedding is great for me. I currently have beige bedding and I like to add different pillows and artwork on occasion and fortunately (or unfortunately depending on how you look at it) I have never felt that I need to replace the bedding in order for everything to work cohesively. I would however like to have something other than just a plain textured cotton. How lovely it would be to have some ruffles or a design like any of these below?

those are so lovely! i would really like to swap my bedding for more neutral bedding. mine is so bright and colorful.. i loved it when i bought it, but now i'm sick of looking at it! and plus it forces everything else in the room to be more neutral. i'll check these out!

I always have white bedding - it feels so fresh! LOVE all the ruffles and frills in these examples - a bit too girly for my hubby but for the guest room, what guest would ever want to leave? : )
These are my style!! I have about 3 white beddings that I switch between (no joke!!). One with ruffles, one more masculine and the other a light quilt. It makes things interesting and is fun to put different pillows (as you said) with them. :)

I am in need to new bedding and have been steering towards plain cream or white because as you said so perfectly you can swap things up by adding pillows, cushions, throws etc.

I had all white bedding for a while...it looks so fresh until it's been washed a few times and maybe some makeup stains on the pillow cases won't come out lol. Indeed, these are dreamy though!
love this look. the last is definitely my favorite b/c i think i'd have easier time with a creamy white as opposed to a bright white. i can't get enough of ruffles.
I cannot tell you how in love I am with this bedding! I think it's been well over a year now that I fell in love with this from Anthro -- if only I had the means to justify this expense :D! At least "window" shopping is free :)!

Wow- I am always afraid to decorate with white. I'm afraid that it will get too dirty... but these are so angelic! LOVE.
LOVE that bedding on the top left - perfect* I on the other hand have a yellow paisley anthropologie duvet, which has served me well but sometimes simplicity is key. may need a neutral set to switch things up. xox, jane
