  • Color Cluster: Teal

I was doing some color organizing for a new project (more on that next week!) and I was noticing that teal seems to be that weird in between color. Is it blue or is closer to green? Looking at the color wheel you will see that red violet is also another in between color. Is it purple or is it pink? But it seems like for the most part the other colors you can stick it with one of the main colors. Your thoughts?

I love teal, maybe even more than blue or green itself. The shades of teal you have here is just gorgeous! Happy weekend!

That's the exact reason why I love teal – its quality of being an inbetween color. Funny, because I just blogged about some Oh Joy notebooks, and one is teal, too :)

Oooh, the hue of the 1950s and swimming pools. This is one of my favorite colors.

well, the basic rule as far as I remember is that you can combine opposite colours from the wheel (contrast) or with the ones standing next to it.
I love that colour, it reminds me of sea, water, seaweed.. :)

have a lovely weekend, dear! xo

Isn't that exactly the beauty of teal, and other in between colors? That it's so hard, I would even say impossible, to label them? Is it green, is it blue? It depends who's looking at it I guess :) I'm a huge fan of in between colors!!!! Have a great day :)

rachel, yes. i love teal because of its ability to morph like that from blue to green. i tend to lean more toward the green side of it than the blue side because tend to love warm tones. what a wonderful post. a girl after my own heart!

I love teal, it's such a feminine color don't you think? Feminine in a very non-obvious way. And you're right, it is very much in the middle of blue and green. One of my fave names for it is 'sea foam green'.

Also, I love your blog and the mission behind it. Hope you're having a great Sunday!
