Colorful Inspiring Bedrooms

Working with a lot of color in one space can definitely be difficult especially in a bedroom because most of the time it's used for rest and relaxation. I think these inspiration examples below are still calm yet fun and oh so glam!

Mellow Monday: Vintage Cameras

I have been in love with old vintage cameras ever since I got to use my father in laws old pentax for a photography class I took a few years ago. Everyone in the class had new digital cameras and I was stuck using 35mm film. I felt like I had a disadvantage until I realized I was the only one in the class who had the slowest shutter speed. Having this made it so I could take a picture with Ryan walking in slow motion and have multiple Ryan's in one photo. It came out pretty neat! I started thinking about old vintage cameras again the other night when Ryan and I attended a party and saw some from the home owners collection. Their cameras had to have been the oldest I had ever seen probably from the early 1900's. It was so cool to see it in person and I wonder now if they still work. Below are some lovely vintage cameras I found on flickr. Enjoy!

These pictures make me want to bring out the Pentax again and start playing. Aren't they beautiful? Do you have any old cameras in your collection and do they still work?

Friday Mood Board: Weekend of Relaxation

All week I have been thinking about going on a mini vacation and I finally decided to go on to hawaiianair.com and purchase two tickets to Oahu for our anniversary! I have been working my butt off lately so I think its due time to have one. We are getting a little island fever if you will and since its not in the cards to go to Portland, OR right now we decided to do a more budget friendly vacation. A skip to Oahu cost about $50 each way from Maui and we have a nice hookup at a hotel right next to Waikiki beach. I know its still another island but the scenery is different and there are fun things to do at night. Can't wait! I am already creating a 3 day itinerary. :) I hope that whatever you decide to do this weekend is relaxing and fun!
I want to thank everyone who has participated in the The Lovely Blogger List! I really appreciate all of your support and sweet words. It's been so nice to read everyones and get to know them a bit better. If your looking for a few new blogger friends I am sure the blogs listed would love to meet you! :) Check out what we have so far HERE>> where you can also add yourself to the list. See you back on Monday with more posts! :)

Colorful Inspiring Spaces

Yesterday I stopped by my moms store to setup a photo shoot for her vintage items. I am now officially the online curator for my mother vintage's shop that will be up and running on etsy in a few days! It would be impossible to get everything up on the internet so I am picking through my favorites to add online for all to see. :) Just some styles that I am mainly sticking with is grandma chic, victorian romantic, and bohemian girl. Its like going through the best thrift shop ever! (if your on Maui check it out hulagypsy.com) I hope to be posting about the items by the end of the week.
Speaking of vintage, today I was inspired by the pretty floral dress from Simple Thrift for my Tropical Oasis cluster. (see below) I then decided to use that look for my interior design inspiration post for today. I hope it puts in you in a great mood. I think its working for me. :)

Introducing The Lovely Blogger List!

I have been thinking of another way to network with lovely bloggers and creative individuals and something sparked with me today. I thought why not have bloggers give an introduction post on their blog and have it linked here for other people to check it out? I think its a great way to get to know each other. I am planning on organizing it by state and country so you can check back on the list and get to know bloggers in your area. Sound fun? If your interested please read on for instructions. Here is what you will need to add to a blog post on your blog in order to be submitted to our list: 1. Brief intro to yourself (1-4 sentences) 2. What do you create? 3. At least two images of your work, studio etc. Other great things to add to your post if your up for it! 1. What/who inspires you? 2. Links to your shop, website, flickr, etc. 3. Links to other bloggers who create, design or collect and let them know about this page. When you have your post up please CLICK HERE>> and fill out this handy dandy form to get on the list! Here is mine for an example! Hello, my name is Rachel Follett and I am a designer on Maui. My husband and I were married (you can see my wedding on 100 Layer Cake!) almost a year ago. We have an adorable cat named Murphy that likes to cuddle in front of my keyboard. :) I design and code websites, business cards, and other printed material. I also work with an Interior designer part time and get to work on large residential projects and restaurants. I also have a small paper shop called Design Lovely where I make pretty things out of vintage wallpaper and I run and curate this site Lovely Clusters! I work a lot but I love what I do!
I am constantly inspired by nature and the lovely things I find on the internet mostly from lovely bloggers and shops. I feel like my style has shifted a lot the past year and I am becoming more and more fond of very beautiful, dreamy and romantic things. You can also find me here: Blog | Flickr | Facebook | Twitter | Tumblr
