Etsy Banner Inspiration 1

Just like people like to collect stamps, coins, or other knick knacks I like to collect inspirational images. It only takes up a small amount of space in my computer instead of something filling up my closet or attic and I love going back to them when I start on a new project. Here are a few of my favorite etsy banners.

Winner! Winner!

The winner for the pixie petals giveaway is Moni Rose from the beautiful blog One Among Sisters!
In order to be entered we asked you what you would do with your pretty pixie petals and this is what she said: "The tags are SO darling - and I'd love to attach them to gifts or even to dresses in my shop :)" Love that idea! And we also have a winner for the Lovely Clusters Option 2 Giveaway and it is the beautiful Sumiko Shop!
Congrats you two and thank you for all your sweet comments!

Interior Spaces: Victoire Boutique

I am so in love with vintage right now.

Last week I went through my mothers things and she let me keep some lovely old items. Some items I added to my basket was a pretty teal jewelry box, an old vintage wallpaper book and a pearl necklace. I want to get some free time soon so I can rummage the thrift store and see if I can find some more grandma chic things. ;) All images from Victoire Boutique

Get the Audrey Look!

I have finally decided what I want to be for Halloween and yep you guessed it, Audrey Hepburn! I am almost finished getting all the things I need. I still need to purchase a tiara and a looonng cigarette holder. I have some ideas on where to look so I am hoping I will find what I am looking for. I tried on what I have so far which is a pair of gloves and a dress my mom bought at Savers and they fit perfectly! It hits just below the knee so its not exactly Audrey Hepburn but its very 50's and really sexy in the back. Close enough! I also already have some pointy black heels that are actually not too bad to walk in and my mother of course has a triple layered pearl necklace with a gorgeous brooch in the middle just like Audreys! Its really coming along and its quite simple to put together. I am getting excited to show it off and I will definitely have some pics to share with you next week. Here are a few items on etsy (except cigarette holder) I found that have that Audrey look.

Featuring: Melt'm Design Studio

Our featured seller on Lovely Clusters last week was the very talented Meltem Semizoglu from Turkey.
I found her process and inspiration intriguing. Here is a little bit about her unique and beautiful jewelry: "The works that I make reflect the delicate balance of modern arts with Anatolian motifs. I'm working with saw-piercing (cutting designs out of the metal), lost wax and stone settings techniques. From my mind and soul, all the models first imprint themselves on a paper. Afterwords, silver or gold, stones and tools accompany me on this exciting journey. I believe that this good spirit and energy is also recorded and stored in the jewelry and in its stone. You may feel this positive energy while having the jewelry on you."
- from Meltem's profile
I love the idea of positive energy in a piece of jewelry or anything handmade. Its as if you can sense the personal touch of the item and knowing that someone else made it with care and love makes it that much more special. I know that I am happier when I am around these items and so I can see how that can be seen as positive energy. I hope you find her work as beautiful and unique as I did. Mello Monday: Vintage Phones

I am starting the week right with some vintage phones.
I finally had the chance to call my Nanny (grandmother on my fathers side). It was nice to chat with her and catch up with life. It's been difficult for her since my Pop Pop passed away but she seems strong and taking it day by day. Its hard being so far away when you want to be there for someone. I am glad that she has some of our family nearby to keep her company. It seems that most of us makes family calls on Sunday. Is this something that you and your family do too?

New Vintage Wallpaper Jotters in the Shop!

My mother gave me this really beautiful Schumacher sample wallpaper book from the 1940's and it has a ton of really cool designs. I knew I wanted to make something with them but I wasn't sure until today.

As you can see I decided to make pretty little jotters. I played around with some different sizes and ways to bind it. I ended up going with a 3"x 3-1/2" size and after much thought I ended up stapling them together and tying a pretty white ribbon over the area that I stapled. I sort of went crazy with making them today and I had so much fun picking out the patterns!

These are really great for your purse or better yet a stocking stuffer! There are only 6 of each set so get yours before there all gone! :)

You can see more about them on my etsy shop designlovely.etsy.com
